POSITION:

The Senior Buyer will bring new creative, strategic ideas to the company.  This position will identify cost reductions in VAVE, LTA, and rebates, report out on market movements and monthly financial impacts, negotiate payment terms with suppliers, and develop and implement continuous improvement ideas. This position will support various functions including engineering, operations, and commercial sales.

Product Engineer – New Model Launch

 

Scope:

Responsible for leading the design and development of automotive interior products from concept to production; verifying the design to performance specifications; managing product scope changes; collaborate with tooling and manufacturing to meet customer design intent.

 

Responsibilities:  The job duties would include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Applying all the elements of the Motus Product Development Process (PDP) for successful achievement of key milestones within the product development and launch process.
  • Managing the day-to-day project details, including creating and updating tactical plans (timelines) identifying project tasks, and managing those tasks to successful and timely completion.
  • Attaining/maintaining a working knowledge of basic Lean engineering principals and problem-solving tools including benchmarking & reverse engineering, DFMEA, 8D’s, tactical planning, Kepner-Tregoe Problem Resolution, 5-Why process, etc.
  • Applying knowledge of manufacturing processes to design development, prototypes & mock-ups, and input into CAD models and drawings.

  • Developing component and sub-assembly GD&T tolerancing and tolerance stack-up studies in support of customer craftsmanship goals.

Position Title: Product Engineer – New Model Launch

Reports to: Product Engineering Manager

Work Location:  Holland, MI

POSITION:

This position is responsible for leading engineering activities related to launching new model programs from concept to production; achieving targets (cost, mass, performance, etc.) on time.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applying all the elements of the Product Launch System for successful achievement of key milestones within the product development and launch process
  • Managing the day-to-day project details including creating and updating tactical plans (timelines), identifying project tasks, and managing those tasks to successful and timely completion. Also, creating/maintaining an open issues list
  • Attaining/maintaining a working knowledge of basic Lean engineering principals including benchmarking & reverse engineering, tactical planning, Pugh/decision analysis, and 10-step A3 problem solving; utilizing these tools to select materials and structures that robustly meet design targets and product specifications, cost, including DFM and mass
  • Root-causing and identifying short- and long-term countermeasures for resolution of design, engineering or manufacturing feasibility issues.  Utilizing DFMEA, Fishbone Diagrams, 8D’s, Kepner-Tregoe Problem Resolution, Is-Is Not process, and 5-Why tools to isolate root causes of functional part issues
  • Applying knowledge of plastic part design, injection-molding and compression forming to prototypes & mock-ups, and input into CAD models and drawings
  • Developing and executing ED, DV and PV test plans to demonstrate customer performance requirements can be met through design and drawing controls and process controls. Execution of these plans would include analytical tools and physical testing
  • Using of analytical tools such as Excel, MiniTab, free body diagrams, hand calculations, design guidelines/checksheets and FEA to confirm design concepts
  • Supporting prototype and pre-production builds at sub-supplier, tool shop, Motus and OEM facilities as required
  • Leading knowledge capture/lessons learned activities through the creation and update of 10-step A3s, design guidelines and checksheets
  • Developing component and sub-assembly GD&T tolerancing and tolerance stack-up studies in support of customer craftsmanship goals
  • Managing engineering budgets including product/designer engineering hours, prototype/validation materials, and testing costs. Identify program scope changes from the original SOW, estimate required hours/cost of change, and obtain approval of costs from the business unit and engineering management
  • Leading material cost reduction projects including organizing trial runs of new material, analyzing dimensional reports, working with designers to update drawings, coordinating validation tests and ultimately implementing changes

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BSME plus 5-10 years applicable experience product engineering launch in automotive interiors, preferably sun visors, headliners, and overhead systems
  • Licensed driver with United States passport. Regional and International travel to Mexico, Japan, and other countries may be required
  • Some overtime as required
  • Injection-mold plastics and metals engineering/design experience is required
  • Automotive OEM customer and engineering launch system experience required
  • Knowledge of post-molding processes such as paint, decorative films, coverstock wrapping, etc. preferred
  • Basic CATIA v5 skills to evaluate 3-D designs preferred
  • Green Belt/Black Belt training is preferred

Position Title: Industrial Engineer – New Model Launch

Reports to:  Industrial Engineer Manager

Work Location: Holland, MI

 

POSITION:

This role is responsible for equipment installations related to new product launches and other business initiatives.  This will include large scale processing equipment for headliner production as well as large and small assembly cells built for the production of automotive interior components such as overhead systems, sun visors and other small interior trim components.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Taking the customer’s request for quote and the Motus developed bill of material to create a manufacturing strategy to produce the part as defined by the customer and product engineering team.  That strategy will include necessary equipment, manning for the line, cycle time, floor space/layout and material/process flow
  • Converting the manufacturing strategy into a manufacturing quote to help define the Motus costs related to producing the product
  • Creating technical specifications to define the equipment needed for supplier quoting and sourcing.
  • Interfacing with the tooling and equipment buyer to review supplier quotes and select the appropriate supplier based on capability, price and lead time
  • Managing the procurement of equipment related to new product launches and other business initiatives.  This will include design reviews with the supplier, working with the supplier to understand and manage their timeline, budget tracking and control, equipment approval / commissioning and relevant manufacturing location deliverables like spare parts, operator instructions and PMs, etc.
  • Managing the procurement and installation of the equipment at the manufacturing location, defining the material and work flow through the assembly line and training the manufacturing personnel to produce the product correctly

Position Title:   Manager of Global VAVE

Reports To:             Director of Purchasing

POSITION:

The Manager of VAVE will lead and manage the organizations global VAVE program.  This individual will be responsible to interface directly with the Manager of Purchasing, Manager of Logistics and Manager of Materials, to create a cohesive and fully integrated Supply Chain team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assign resource(s) and Manage project timeline(s) of global, regional and plant VAVE projects
  • Work with Manager of Purchasing to create and manage budget for entire department
  • Support Motus terms and contracts to be in line with corporate policies, procedures and expectations. Supports production and prototype tooling feasibility during quote phase
  • Provide support to product engineers, commercial teams, plant operations and Corporate on all projects related to VAVE
  • Individual needs to create a tracking process of all projects, identifying project leads, support team, project details and timeline, and projected and actual completion of projects (and potential other metrics)
  • Responsible to build relationships with suppliers and customers (through customer group), to identify opportunities and work cohesively on best way to execute
  • Develops and maintains VAVE program for customer, internal and suppliers to ensure market competitiveness, while creating a partnership with all the stakeholders associated to the team. 
  • Candidate must understand that all program related duties need to be accomplished within the requirements of the Program Management System
  • Create Supplier Scorecard to determine their “activity” toward VAVE (ideas generated, projects closed, etc.) and share with the Manager of Purchasing on their performance

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Program Management or Purchasing/Supply Chain field with a specialization in CI/VAVE project management a plus

POSITION:

Using the Motus Tool Flow Process, the Tooling Engineer is responsible for all aspects of tooling and process development for all new (launch) Plastic Injection molding tools, and Polyurethane Foam tools, as well as the transition of the tools into the Motus production facility.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quote phase sign off
  • Molded part feasibility
  • Tool sourcing – domestic and Low Cost Countries
  • Tool design
  • Tool tracking – managing the tool build process

Position Title:      ERP Program Manager

Reports To:          VP of IT

POSITION:

A successful candidate will coordinate and complete projects within the Information Technology department. The scope of the ERP Program Manager is to oversee all aspects of ERP based projects. You will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, create a team environment, monitor and summarize progress of projects. You will also build and maintain working relationships with team members, business partners, customers, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects.  You will prepare reports for management regarding status of project. Be familiar with a variety of business processes including, manufacturing, finance, quality, materials, operations and systems. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sound understanding of ERP and business related activities for ERP based projects.  (Experience with PLEX is a plus)

Position Title:  Global Tax Manager

Reports to:              Corporate Controller

POSITION:

The Global Tax Manager will play an integral part of the Corporate Finance organization and be responsible for creating the tax strategy and executing tax planning for the organization.  The Global Tax Manager is also responsible for transfer pricing, tax provision calculations and global tax management and global compliance.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

Income Tax Accounting:

  • Oversee global income tax accounting processes, calculations and analyses including coordination/preparation, review, and analysis of international tax packages, tax calculations (current income tax provision, deferred tax, income tax payable roll forward and proof), international tax provision to return calculations, and US GAAP and IFRS analysis of international deferred tax items
  • Prepare all relevant documentation including tax accounting memos to support analysis and audit workpapers including:
  • Monitoring the company’s position regarding valuation allowances in accordance with IAS 12 Income Taxes
  • Monitoring the company’s position regarding Uncertain Tax Positions (UTP’s) in accordance with ASC 740-10 and any interpretation updates from IAS 12
  • Monitoring the company’s position regarding indefinite reinvestment in accordance with IAS 12
  • Prepare tax footnotes utilized in audited financial statements
  • Communicate with financial statement auditors on inquiries
  • Monitor all tax law changes for GAAP and IFRS reporting

Tax Compliance:

  • Coordinate with internal departments and external service providers to ensure corporate tax returns are filed timely and accurately in foreign jurisdictions
  • Coordinate US tax compliance
  • Coordinate state and local tax filings
  • Tax Strategy and Planning
  • Assist with global tax planning and structuring projects including corporate acquisition, reorganizations, operational initiatives, and other corporate led projects

Other:

  • Coordinate annual Transfer Pricing updates
  • Assist with VAT and other projects as needed
  • Provide technical support or assistance as needed
  • Manage tax budget for 3rd party service providers

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. degree in Accounting / CPA preferred (not required)
  • Masters in Taxation preferred
  • Five + years of experience in public/private accounting preferred with minimum of 3 years international tax experience
  • Excellent US tax research skills and tax research for local country tax regimes and tax treaties
  • Experience with Plex ERP system a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Position Title:  Senior Financial Analyst

POSITION:

Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst will provide financial planning, analysis and reporting for Motus business units and the consolidated company on a monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc basis. This role will require strong analytical, modeling and communication skills to ensure results are properly communicated to the leadership team. Will require the ability to effectively work in a cross functional, dynamic work environment, including regular interaction with all global business entities and capable of challenging results and explanations when required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide monthly analysis and written commentary of operating results by plant vs. plan, forecast and prior periods
  • Manage multiple aspects of the monthly and quarterly financial reporting process
  • Coordinate, develop and review short-range financial forecasts and plans to achieve financial targets
  • Track and analyze corporate expenses vs annual operating plan
  • Prepare Executive Presentations in PowerPoint on a monthly/quarterly basis including backup support and key talking points
  • Be a key contributor to the development, roll-out and roll-up of the annual operating plan and quarterly forecast processes including review and analysis
